每当说起日本料理,大部分人会想到刺身和寿司。由于日本属于海岛型国家,常年有新鲜的海产供应,形成了日本人爱吃鲜海产的文化。日本和大多亚洲地区一样,米饭为主食,配上蔬菜、鱼或肉和味噌汤,再附上一小碟酱菜,就是传统的日本餐。面类也是日本料理里相当重要的一部分,其中荞麦面和乌龙面属于比较传统的面食,接下来就是从二十世纪初由中国传入日本的拉面。
日本的小食则有熟悉的章鱼烧(Takoyaki)、什锦烧(Okonomiyaki)和鯛魚烧(Taiyaki)等等。
日本人对料理的摆设和美观很重视,用餐的用具也很讲究,认为这会直接的影响食欲。
Speaking of Japanese cuisine, most people will only think of sashimi and sushi. The perennial supply of seafood in this island nation has cultivate the culture of consuming seafood. Similar to most Asian region, rice is Japanese staple diet. The traditional Japanese food always consists of rice, accompanied by vegetables, fish or meat and miso soup, with small dish of pickles. Noodles are also important in Japanese cuisine. Among all, soba and udon are traditional noodles in Japan, followed by ramen which was brought into Japan via China in the 20th century.
Snacks wise, takoyaki, okonomiyaki and taiyaku are a few common Japanese snacks.
Japanese are very particular in the decoration of the food and the utensils use, as they believe the aesthetic of the food have an impact on their appetite.
